To increase the level of B-BBEE (BEE) compliance of enterprises in South Africa

Vision
The rate of transformation in South Africa has often been criticised as being too slow. One of the reasons for this is confusion and inconsistencies around the implementation of the codes of good practice. We want to ensure that all BEE businesses (consultants/verification agencies/service providers), large enterprises, public/government organizations and general service providers to become more knowledgeable about the codes and implement them in a consistent manner.

Method of Operation
We will invite enterprises in the above categories to join our membership group. There are different categories of memberships, with differing services offered to meet the needs of the members. The web site www.bee-expert-group.co.za will be the place where members can obtain answers to queries, learn more about BEE

Why BEE Expert Group?
There is currently no single organisation that is the custodian of all knowledge about broad-based black economic empowerment. The BEE Expert Group hopes to consolidate all available knowledge and with the assistance of members add to it. There are various areas where the coders are open to interpretation, and we hope to obtain a consistent interpretation. We will engage the dti and other government departments to obtain clarity on various aspects.
We also know that there are many businesses that want to become BEE consultants or verification agencies and do not know how to go about applying and gaining the knowledge. We want to assist those enterprises to become successful and knowledgeable. Other consultants have done a disservice to their clients by giving bad/misleading/incorrect information. Some large corporations are also confused about how to implement the codes which is why they too are being offered corporate membership of the BEE Expert Group.

What the BEE Expert Group is not!
The group is not a pressure or lobby group. Our aim is to interpret the codes and make it easier to consultants/verification agencies/enterprises to implement BEE for their clients or for themselves. This will achieve our objective of increasing the rate of transformation.

BEE Expert Group is a commercial initiative of Dinoka Group, and a sister business to EconoBEE.
